Ranbir Kapoor’s films

Here are numerous box office milestones set by Animal, ranging from being the largest opening of Ranbir Kapoor’s career to being the second biggest opening film in Bollywood in 2023 thus far.

Latest “Animal” box office collection: Despite getting mixed reviews from critics, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal has stormed the box office. Some have applauded Kapoor for his portrayal of Ranvijay Singh, while others have attacked the movie for depicting female characters who lack agency, choice, or voice. In spite of this, the movie has had a successful premiere in theaters. Here are numerous box office records that Animal has established, ranging from being the largest opening of Ranbir Kapoor’s career to being the second biggest opening film in Bollywood in 2023 thus far:

Major breakthrough in Ranbir Kapoor’s career

Ranbir Kapoor’s most successful opening to date is unquestionably Animal. On its first day of release, the movie brought in a total of Rs 63.80 crore from all languages. Throughout his career, he has also starred in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, Sanju, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Rockstar, in that order.

Sanju34.75 crore rupees
Reewani Yeh Jawaani HaiRs 19.45 crore
RockstarINR 10.60 billion
At the box office, “Animal,” starring Ranbir Kapoor, broke five records on its opening day.

2023’S SECOND-LARGEST OPENER

With their impressive receipts, Pathaan, Jawan, and Gadar 2 topped the Indian box office in 2023. Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 had a respectable first day of sales as well. In spite of this, Ranbir Kapoor’s most recent movie is now the second-biggest Bollywood opening of 2023.

1. Ranbir’s largest lead to date:

After making his box office breakthrough in 2008 with “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani,” “Rockstar,” “Sanju,” and “Brahmastra,” the actor has surpassed himself with “Animal,” debuting at Rs 61 crore on the first day of sales. It’s his largest opening to date. On its first day of distribution, “Brahmastra” made around Rs 37 crore in revenue, but “Animal,” which received a “A” certificate, quickly outperformed the numbers.

2. The year’s second-biggest opener:

The Khans and the Deols have controlled the box office this year, with “Pathaan,” “Jawan,” “Gadar,” and “Tiger 3/” generating enormous business. But “Animal” has broken every record to emerge as the year’s second-best opener, comfortably surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan” in the process. Day 1 receipts for the SRK movie were Rs 57 crore. However, “Jawan” maintained its top spot with an earnings of Rs 75 crore on the first day.

3. Largest opening despite receiving a “A” grade:

Even while “Jawan” is still the biggest opening, it should be mentioned that the movie received a “U/A” certificate. However, because of its graphic content and violent sequences, “Animal” has managed to maintain these records even though it received a “A” rating in India and an adult certification in the UK. It may be the first time in Indian cinema history that a film with a “A” certificate has made Rs 100 crore globally on its first day of release.

4. Vanga’s biggest opener:

Hits like “Arjun Reddy” and “Kabir Singh” were produced by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, but the filmmaker himself has never had a big opening like this. Additionally, this is the first time the filmmaker and Ranbir Kapoor have worked together on a movie.

Largest non-holiday opener:

Another cherry on top for “Animal” is that, despite not being released over the holidays, it saw an unprecedented opening.

If the trade is to be believed, “Animal” at the ticket desk will have just as much fun on the second day.
