A new video reveals specifics of the legal dispute between Nelson Peltz, the millionaire father of Peltz, and wedding planners.
Even though Brooklyn Beckham and heiress and actress Nicola Peltz’s wedding was dubbed the “celebrity wedding of the year” in 2022, there were apparently a lot of difficulties along the way.
“Peltz Beckhams Vs. The Planners,” a new documentary, dissects the first case that Nicola’s rich father, Nelson Peltz, launched against Plan Design Events (PDE), recounting the tale from both sides of the courtroom.

How everything started
In October 2019, Nicola and Brooklyn started dating, and in January 2020, they declared their relationship public on Instagram. The pair announced their engagement on Instagram in July 2020, little than a year after they started dating. Peltz Beckham said that Beckham had made her “the luckiest girl in the world.”
Peltz and Beckham got married in April 2022 in the multimillion-dollar Palm Beach, Florida, home of the Peltz family.
Renowned wedding planner Preston Bailey was engaged by Nicola and her parents, Nelson and Claudia Peltz, to oversee the elaborate event; however, he withdrew from the project six weeks before to the wedding, putting the Peltz family in a state of panic.
Eleven months into the project, Bailey informed Page Six in February that he had made the decision to leave because he had “overcommitted.”
Bailey said to the source, “I couldn’t deliver to the quality I was used to.”

Nelson contacted Braghin and Grijalba of Plan Design Events six weeks prior to the big day.
The documentary claims that PDE only spent nine days working on Nicola and Brooklyn’s wedding before Nelson dismissed them. Nelson didn’t bring legal action against the business until December 2022, at which point he demanded the recovery of his $159,000 security deposit.
The complaint, which is included in the opening segment of the program, claims that Nelson was “hoodwinked” into believing that Braghin and Grijalba could manage a wedding of this kind.
The lawsuit in opposition
Nelson sued Plan Design Events, and Braghin and Grijalba countersued, claiming they should have been paid for the nine days of labor and withholding the $159,000 deposit.
In the countersuit, Ariana and Nicole referred to Nelson as the “billionaire bully”. According to the documentary, after breaking the news to the wedding planners, Nelson contacted them to terminate them and said, “Are you crying?”
The video claims that the wedding planners submitted over 150 pages of supporting documentation, the majority of which consisted of images of text conversations from a group chat they had with Claudia and Nicola.
In the course of a 12-hour period, 258 text messages were sent and received in the wedding planners’ group chat, according to the documentary.
According to expert commentary in the program, the evidence portrayed Nicola as a “nightmare bride” who brought “total carnage” to the wedding planning and was purportedly too preoccupied with the star-studded guest list.
Serena and Venus Williams, Gordon Ramsay, Eva Longoria, Mel C, Gigi Hadid, Tom Brady, and Gisele Bündchen—Brady’s wife at the time—were among the attendees.
The countersuit claims that although Nicola and her family persisted in making alterations, the Beckhams’ portion of the guest list was settled when they took up the wedding preparations six weeks prior to the big day.
Throughout the documentary, Nicola posted a number of texts expressing her anxiety about seeing everyone’s plus-one and the guest list.
“I would really love to see who’s attending my wedding,” Nicola allegedly commented in a message.
Brooklyn was referred to as the “ultimate nepo baby” in the documentary since he still hasn’t exactly discovered his passion in life. The documentary touched on his short-lived soccer career as well as his side interests in modeling and cuisine.
Beckhams when it’s dark
Nicola and the Peltz family concealed the tension surrounding the wedding preparations from Victoria Beckham, according to the documentary.

Result
A settlement was achieved in September between the parties to the legal issue.
A joint statement from the two sides was featured in the documentary.
“The parties believe that this contract dispute between Nelson Peltz and Plan Design should be resolved on the terms agreed,” read the statement.
“PDE will donate to the CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund on behalf of Nicola and Brooklyn as part of the settlement. PDE hopes for Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham’s happiness and a long and successful marriage,” the statement said at its conclusion.
