Defying those who criticized her for being cast in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Leah Sava Jeffries has responded.

During an interview with Essence, Jeffries directly addressed the doubters. Previously, Alexandra Daddario portrayed Annabeth in the Percy Jackson movies. Although it might be a difficult standard to meet, Jeffries wasn’t concerned about it.

Jeffries remarked, “I listen to people say things and try to pull me down.” “They claim that you are not Elizabeth. She cannot be played the way Alexandra Daddario can. However, what’s the deal? They’re accurate. I can’t play like her because I’m not her.

“However, I’m going to demonstrate to you my identity and approach to it,” she went on. I’m not attempting to emulate anyone. My desire is to be authentic and to ensure that other girls share my same sentiments.

One member of the new Percy Jackson trio is Leah Sava Jeffries. Grover is portrayed by Aryan Simhadri in the new rendition, while Walker Scobell plays the title role. Jeffries rose to fame in her early career on Empire as Lola Lyon. In Lil Rey Howery’s Rel, she starred.

Jeffries had a significant year in 2022. She starred in the romantic comedy Beast, starring Idris Elba, and Something from Tiffany’s, starring Zoey Deutch.
