Cast of “Last of Us” Season 2: Kaitlyn Dever as Abby

As Abby, a “skilled soldier whose black-and-white view of the world is challenged as she seeks vengeance for those she loved,” Dever joins the popular HBO series.

Dever has previously appeared in television series such as “Dopesick,” “Justified,” “Last Man Standing,” and “Unbelievable.” She is a star of several films, including “Booksmart,” “Rosaline,” “Next Goal Wins,” and “No One Will Save You,” which she also executive produced. She was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy for “Dopesick” in addition to a Golden Globe for her performance in “Unbelievable.”

“The Last of Us” is based on the popular video game of the same name, which Naughty Dog and Druckmann produced. The plot takes place twenty years after the destruction of modern civilization, according to the official description. A tough survivor named Joel (Pedro Pascal) is paid to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie (Bella Ramsey) out of a harsh quarantine area. What begins as a menial task quickly turns into a terrible, painful journey as they have to travel across the United States together and rely on one another to survive.

Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Melanie Lynskey, Storm Reid, Merle Dandridge, Jeffrey Pierce, Lamar Johnson, Keivonn Woodard, Graham was also listed in the cast of Season 1 Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Elaine Miles, and Greene.

Mazin and Druckmann are both executive producers and writers of the series. Each has also helmed episodes of the program. Rose Lam, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Asad Qizilbash of PlayStation Productions serve as executive producers alongside Carolyn Strauss and Naughty Dog president Evan Wells. HBO and Sony Pictures Television are co-producing the show. Produced by Naughty Dog, Word Games, PlayStation Productions, and The Mighty Mint.

“The Last of Us” turned out to be a huge hit with viewers and critics alike. The show had a great deal of viewership and was nominated for several awards in its first season. In addition to 25 Emmy nods, it garnered three Golden Globe nominations. Even though the Primetime Emmy Awards are scheduled for January 15, the program has already won at the Creative Arts Emmys, eight Emmys. Offerman and Reid, who won for best guest actor and actress in a drama series, respectively, are included in that list.
